Josh- Yoooo you busy right now?
Jordan- Naw just capped a couple of clipz
Josh- Good. LIT interview now HO3!
Jordan- Aight
Josh- Age and tell us the shit place you call home
Jordan- 18, monticello iowa. home of the panthers son.
Josh- So iowa... Whats it like living there?? haha prob not to good
Jordan- Nahh dude its pretty boring. Thats why I've been trying like mad to get out as much as I can. Theres a few fun spots but nothing for parks compared to anywhere else.
Josh- Yea forsure. So a good or even alright outdoor park how far of a drive and for indoor parks?
Jordan- I drive like an hour and twenty minutes to get to davenport, which is probably the best park in the state (shoutout to shorty and the locals down there). Indoor parks? Theres one in davenport but its all quarters and stuff I can't ride so I've only been there once. And then theres the Ghetto, if that counts as a park. Hahaha.
Josh- Damnnnn son that sucks! Alright tell the kids about the ghetto what it is, who owns it all that good stuff.
Jordan- God not again. Okay well "The Ghetto" is a building owned by Issac Miller's parents. Its multilevel and downstairs theres a karate class or whatever and upstairs theres an apartment where a guy and his gf lives. Where we ride is also upstairs, the guys doesn't mind us up there at all, he'll come out and talk to us sometimes. Everything that was built at the ghetto, is well ghetto. Nobody really wants to put in the time or effort to make things legit, which makes sense cause otherwise it wouldn't be called the ghetto. Theres sooo much random stuff up there, everything from playboy mags to boxes of bullets to issac's mom's high school yearbook to old jars of salsa. Its a pretty fun place, even when you get bored of riding it.
Josh- Oh damn I you never told me about half that shit... haha even I'm learning something. Well alright gonna drop this and go onto something else. What made you think of starting Inside?
Jordan- Well I always loved reading interviews and mag type stuff of bmxers, skaters, etc., so it was a bummer that we didn't have anything like that. There were a couple attempts to get a magazine started but they never really went anywhere. So in December 08 I figured I could do mag type content on a blog. It was pretty much gonna be a for fun thing but today its evolved into something bigger than I would have ever thought. I owe so much to Steven T for taking a chance and working with me back when I was a little random in January 09. Him, Aaron Bransdon, Margaret Mulligan, Chris Gascoigne, and Brian Boston all have contributed to IS in big ways.
Josh- Alright you little shit lets hear about how many views you get on Inside? Brag it up... haha
Jordan- Classified info buddy...but we definitely get enough. We get more and more each month, with no signs of slowing down.
Josh- hahaha Jordan just showing you guys how legit inside is... damn well yea I still remember when it started and how much its grown. You really did something sick for the sport dude. God I hate calling it a sport...
Jordan- Sport for lack of a better term. I like to use "skewtering" or "skewtin" or "raising the gnar"
Josh- Yea good call. I just hate the word sport I try to avoid saying it as much as possible when talking about scooter riding. Whats your thought on trying to get scooter riding into the X-games and huge name comps like that with all the other "Extreme Sports"?
Jordan- Its not really something I'm terrible concerned about but it would be cool to see t-bone and kota battling it out on espn. Then again I like how we still have a small sport, I mean 99% of people out there don't even know you can do tricks on these things. I can definitely see us getting there in 5-10 years though. Just five years ago there were like 4 annual comps, now there's comps every other weekend all over the place. Its pretty cool.
Josh- Hell yea forsure, You placed first in the 4 Seasons Comp in pro last summer. Not to many people know about that haha.
Jordan- Hahahah. Beating out Josh Young who came in 2nd. Not too many people now about that either
Josh- Dude that comp was rigged and you know it! I should not of gotten second! I rode terrible... But whatever. So lets talk about Blunt. Not to many americans are digging blunt right now? What do you think is up with that?
Jordan- I dunno dude. I guess the decks just have this bad rep because some people broke em...but out of how many have been made, its not really surprising. If you look at the first run of Blunt decks vs any other company's first deck, its probably about the same. V2 decks are coming out soon, and I'm sure they'll have improved from the v1. Oh and it doesn't help that two of the team riders quit on us. But I won't talk about that.
Josh- haha yea I have no comment on that either... but anywaysss how was the blunt tour at the beginning of the year? You got to go on the whole trip with some of the aussie team and the owner Dinny
Jordan- It was cool. Got to ride a whole bunch of new places. We pretty much drove 7 hours both ways to Las Vegas to buy Wazzeh some shoes. It was a little weird hanging out with the Aussies since our cultures and how we ride are so different but they're definitely cool guys. And of course hanging out with my US teammates was awesome, as well a chilling with the guys from District. I still talk with aussie accent at times, which really annoys Issac and Zach ahahah.
Josh- Yea all those guys are super cool. So you've been on alot of trips. What has been your favorite trip or tour that you've ever been on?
Jordan- Transit 2 for sure. Hanging out for a week with some of my best scooter friends, just chilling not worrying about a comp (even though we did do the one, which I won), riding so many parks and Chicago street. Best of all we documented it on DVD to remember for the rest of our lives. So many good times happened on that trip, I won't be forgetting it anytime soon.
Josh- Yesss I still think Transit 2 was like the best week of my life. So much fun! But alright this interview is getting long so lets end this shit! Shoutouts to anyone?
Jordan- Uhh Steven and everyone else I mentioned for helping with IS. Steven again for putting me on Inward back in the day and then Blunt more recently. Dinny from Blunt and DSA Dave for hooking it up. Tdadd for letting me stay at his house and filming and everything. And Proto for making an amazing dvd which I watch like every day...haha. Oh and you for doing this interview with me
Josh- haha chill chill sounds LITgit dude!! Thanks for your tyme fool!!!
Here is one of Jordan's fresh edits. So hop on it!!
