Blunt is now Envy?

So I seen somethin on Jordan Jasa's facebook and some kid said somethin about Blunt being Envy Scooters now. I had no idea about this but Jordan was telling me that Blunt is changing there name to Envy over in Aus. I guess its still going to be Blunt in the U.S. I seen on the Envy Facebook that part of the new name is that they just set up a new shop and Envy stuff is made there. The logo for Blunt and Envy is still the same which is kind of weird to me but thats there call. This is what they said on the Offical Envy Facebook page... "For over a year now Blunt Scooters has been producing high quality products. A new direction has been decided for Blunt, which will be changing its name FOR AUSTRALIA ONLY to ENVY SCOOTERS. Josh Kish Phoenix Video+ Interview!

So my buddy Josh Kish just dropped his Phoenix Web Edit a few days ago and it got me super hyped! We all know Josh as an amazing park rider, winning tons of comps including one of the biggest in the world (SD4) but in this edit he does something a little different. He gets his STREEEEET on!!! So I hit him up on Facebook and asked him a few questions about the edit and a few things that are going on with Phoenix. Theres not much to say about the edit other than its stupid good and there is a good mix of park and street in it! So check it out after you read the interview!!



Young- So Josh your new Phoenix edit just dropped, how long you been workin on it?

Kish- I originally wanted it to be a full street edit, that was back when i finished filming my bustin cakes part, since december and i kept progressing in the streets so i kept on refilming and footy got stale real quick

Young- Not to be a dick but your a park rider, why would you want to film a full street edit?

Kish- After watching people like garret reynolds and dennis enarson, who orignally were park riders and relize that street riding is much harder to do. No spot is the same everything is always different and there always room to progress. One day i want people to be like remember when joshkish used to ride park? Some shit like that

Young- Hell yea dude thats a good way to look at things! Speaking of Garret I seen a spot thats in one of his video parts in your edit. Thats pretty cool! So were there any spots that you went to while you were filming and you just wanted to do a park trick like a flair or something along those lines, but you did something else more "street"?

Kish- Garret lives a town over from me so I tend to look for spot that are in his videos. Ive only gone to one spot with intent of doing a park trick on and that was the spot that I flair whipped that little halfpipe thing

Young- Thats so sick! That was one of the clips that just totally caught me off guard. like you just dropped in and a second later your doing a flair whip. haha That got me super hyped! Who are some of your favorite street riders to watch ride? Any new edits get you hyped to go out and film for your own video?

Kish- haha thanks brosidon, I watch alot of different video to get me pumped, right now its chris haffeys drip drop section, dennis enarsons last chance part and the lucky opus throwaway. alond with all the footage addict drops. Chris haffey is a fruit booter btw

Young- Yea i was like who the hell is that? haha but I do the same thing, alot of BMX and skate videos really get me hyped to go out and ride. There are just so few scooter videos that get me hyped to go out and ride street, besides Jackson Cali edit... That was just crazy. But anyways when your get a clip is it like alright were goin to film this trick on this day, or do you just go out and ride and bust the camera out if you feel like it?

Kish- I know people who do that, its cool to know what you want to do when you get to a spot, but I cant I have to ride and if I come up with something sick we bust out the mo fuckin cam.

Like Ive rode SOO many famous spots I mean really I live in between philly and NYC. I just like riding street and looking for street.

 

Young- Yea I feel ya there, but everybody is different about how they go about filming I guess. So overall are you happy with how it turned out?

 

Kish- Eh, I pulled an all nighter editing and stuff uploading new footy. There was alot of stale footage, shit quality, filmed bad, and I wanted an all street edit like i said before. But Phoenix is making a dvd and its time to focus on my section for that.

 

Young- DVD? Has that been announced yet?! I havent heard anything about that yet? When did you guys start thinking about a DVD?

 

Kish- Well Its been a thought for some time now. Right after the razor global domination tour stop in escoindido, Phoenix flew me out to oregon to start filming and we did a little endub tour with inward. Got hella footage. And we came up with a dope ass name for the dvd

 

Young- Thats legit! So do you guys know who all is going to have full parts yet?

 

Kish- Well i cant say fersure. Theres going to be some big changes in phoenix i can let you know that.

 

Young- Ohhhhh shit, well Phoenix is getting pretty big now so I can imagine that things are going to get bigger and better forsure! Well thanks for your time dude! Any shoutouts?

Justin Robertson Interview

Justin is a pretty crazy dude. He has come soooo far in the past few years. I remember when a few of his first videos came out and I didnt think he was that good, just riding his local park and stuff like that. Then he started doin some pretty crazy little grind combos on this ledge at his local park and thats what caught my eye. The fakie feeble grinds are what got me to like Justin, and now he has just gotten amazing. So much in fact that he is now on the Madd Gear Pro team! Justin has some tech skills but also knows how to throw down on some biggg stuff. Hes got some pretty gnar tricks down some really big sets. His videos are always fun to watch and hes a real cool guy! So I give you the Justin Robertson Interview!

Josh- Alright so you just got back from a trip to the states with the madd team. What did you think of the U.S?

Justin- It was hella sick, finally got to meet a ton of people in person rather then talking online and it was sick getting to ride a bunch of parks/spots that i was used to only seeing in videos, i wanna go back again soon cause it was definitely the best week of my summer

Josh- Oh hell yea dude i bet. you havent really met any big name riders before in person, who would you say were some of your favorite people that you met on the trip?

Justin- Honestly i was stoked on everyone that i met/rode with, being with the whole madd usa team was awesome, and meeting guys like tyler wheeland, dylan kasson, jake clark was sickk too cause i had no idea we'd end up running into them throughout the tour, its so much different there where so many people ride then over here i only have like 2 friends to ride with hahaha

Josh- Dylan and Twhee are dope! So did you get to ride any crazy street when you were on the tour?

Justin- sadly no, i was pumped to ride street but the only morning twan had time to take us out street riding no one was down for it so i was the only one who went hahah got to ride one spot then i busted my heel first thing trying double whip off a school roof and that kind of screwed me over for the rest of the tour but it was near the end luckily, next time im out there though i wanna hit up a lot more street cause the spots over there look unreal

Josh- Yea thats always a bummer, so what was it like being in the Madd van for hours on end with the whole team?

Justin- haha well im pretty sure id go deaf if i was in there any longer just from how loud the music is in there, it was really chill though, a lot of funny shit was said and it was just a good time, i also spent a lot of time sleeping in it though just cause im not used to waking up so early every day haha i need my 12 hours of sleep

Josh- haha yea i can only imagine how fun that must of been. but you've been on madd for a lil while now. that must of been a dream come true! Madd prob has more money than all the U.S companies put together! Justin- i cant even describe it haha i NEVER expected to be riding for a company like Madd and then when i got on the team i was just like this cant be real haha but then i got a package of some stuff and it hit me that i was actually riding for them so now i just feel like i gotta step up my game and throw down as big as i can whenever i have the chance cause i know a lot of people questioned the fact that i got on when i first did and probably still do haha

Josh- Ahhh there all just hatin cuz MADD has some of the best park riders in the world. You got the street skills!!! Speaking of street skills when can we see a new edit out of you?

Justin- I was hoping for one by the end of summer but theres no way thats happening haha so im hoping by the end of the year i can get another all street or mostly street edit out, ive been slacking on filming lately just cause ive been riding a broken headset and had to take it easy, just got it fixed though so hopefully i can start getting some clips filmed

Josh- Sounds good man! What deck were you riding before you got on madd? Was it pretty hard getting used to the mgp deck?

Justin- the only decks ive ever owned before my mgp deck were pro models and ultra pros so at first i was shit i hope i can get used to the weight, but within a week i had everything dialed on it and honestly i dont think id ride another deck just cause they're so strong, been riding the same deck for over 6 months and after hitting 13 sets and some big gaps theres still not a single crack or bend so im stoked i dont have to get a new deck every month or 2 anymore hahah

Josh- Thats always good! Alright man well I think that just about does it! Any shoutouts?

Sky High Local Team Edit!!!

This edit turned out sooooo good!!! This is the sky high local team, all of them live around the chicago area. Jordan did a realllly great job editing this and there are some pretty sick clips in here. My man Jeff M goes pretttty hard, the lip to 180 bar caught me off guard. Kirk just looks like a street rider to me, just needs to clean up some of his tricks and I can see him going really far!! But everybody just kills it in this video, some really good spots in here to so check it out!

Alright so im startin somethin new on LIT called F#CKed 5! This is going to be when I say 5 different words to a rider and they say somethin back. Its just random shit. French Toast Review!

So a few days ago I got a package in the mail from the BROs at Sky High. Inside was what most of us scooter riders have been waiting for... For a longggg time. A legit scooter mag!!! I open it up and there it was, Issue 2 of French Toast! You can tell just from how good the cover looks that its going to be an amazing mag. So I open it up and take my first look.

Right off the bat theres a district ad that looked soooo sick. Whoever edited it did a great job and it looks like something straight outta a bmx or skate mag. There are alot of good ads in there and thats something that I was really looking forward to. Seeing some well put together ads and good tricks in them.

Another thing thats pretty cool is there is a little news section where it shows some of the stuff thats going on and its split up into the countries where scooter riding is biggest like the US, Aus, Europe and so on. There just little updates on whos on what team and whats going on. Then there is another section called Showroom. Showroom is when they take parts from all different companies and tell you the company, weight, price, what compression system it can use and a few other things. Then it goes on to tell you a little bit about the product. It could really come in handy if your looking for a new part and dont know what to choose. This months part is forks and there are 10 different ones to look at!

Another section they got that is kind of like Showroom is Look. Look is clothes and stuff like that. I was personally hyped on this section becuase the put the TILT "I ONLY FILM BANGERS" tee in there. A tee that I came up with for TILT that has sold pretty well! But there are clothes, shoes, sunglasses things that scooter riders would be hyped on. Im sure the next issue will have more scooter companies in it since I've been seeing alot of new tees and that new elyts backpack! Wouldnt be surprised if that was in the next one.

The interviews in this issue are pretty sick you got one with Terry Price and another with Dakota Schuetz. Both are pretty cool and they talk about alot of different shit. Both guys have some cool pictures in them to so thats always a plus to. Dont really know what else to say about the intervews I guess you just gotta read them for yourself.

Another thing thats in French Toast is somethin called Toasted Face. Its pretty much a interview and this issue has my homie Tyler Wheeland taking the spotlight. Twhee took a trip over to France for the street jam and they talk about that and just stuff that twhee is into I guess. I got hyped on it. Prob just becuase Tyler is such a interesting person but mostly just weird haha.

Well im not gonna go any farther than this. There is so much shit that French Toast has to offer. Theres alot more stuff that I didnt even cover like the contests and scene reports and just so much stuff. The is only one downside to French Toast and that its not all in english. But its not made in the U.S so what do you expect?! haha there are a few spelling errors and little stuff like that but I'm sure that people wont care to much. Plus I'm sure that with every new issue its just going to improve and get better! Remember this is only the 2nd issue and its only going to get bigger! not gonna post a whole trip review but ill tell you this. rode some street. spencer got a speeding ticket, we got pulled over in the hotel parking lot for looking sketchy, everybody got 50 dollar parking tickets at the ohio state campus skatepark, and we got kicked outta a spot and the cop said he could of taken us to jail and bullshit and got tickets. but there were like 12 of us so he gave us a warning.... haha i got 2 clips, got some photos, seen some friends and had a great time as always!!!! gotta <4 ohio!!!
